Why have my car Serviced?

Regular inspections identify any problems with your vehicle and, prevent the inconvenience of breaking down - or even worse the failure of a component - which may be very dangerous!

Would you get on an aeroplane that wasn't regularly serviced?

Your car has the capabilty of travelling at over 110km/h any component failure at that speed would be catastrophic!!

For example:

Checking Tyre Tred Depth

Tyre Pressure
  • Battery condition (the main contributor to breakdowns)
  • Brake condition (brake pads are a wearing part and are vital to safety)
  • Suspension checks (your suspension keeps the tyres in contact with the road)
  • Lights, wipers, horn etc (avoid a police fine for a blown brake light or headlight)
  • Engine oil lubricates the engine and holds all dirt and carbon deposits
    • If not changed regularly, oil thickens and causes sludge build up causing poor lubrication, leading to engine damage
  • Coolant degrades over time and actually attacks the cooling system if not changed at the required interval
  • Brake fluid is Hygroscopic which means it attracts water if not changed regularly
    • Under hard braking this may cause the fluid to boil, affecting stopping efficiency
  • Tyres can wear due to incorrect wheel alignment and/or a worn steering / suspension component
    • Picked up early can save unnecessary tyre replacement

What happens if I don't replace my timing belt when due?

Your Timing belt is a rubber toothed belt that links the drive from the Pistons to the Valves, this is precisely timed.

Over time and use the belt degrades, and will need replacing, most engines the required mileage to have replaced is 100,000km, some Holden 4 cylinder engines require replacement at 60,000km and some don't require replacement until 150,000km, if you don't know when your car requires replacement contact your mechanic and he will tell you.

If this belt is not replaced when required and then this belt snaps or the teeth strip.

The pistons may hit the valves , causing thousands of dollars of damage to your engine.
